Ms. Marlene Winstead Lowing Feb 1, 1955 - July 5, 2023

Marlene Winstead Lowing, a native of Mobile, AL, was born on Feb 1, 1955 and passed from this life on July 5, 2023. She is preceded in death by her parents Marvin, Sr and Aurelia Winstead and her husband, James Lowing. She is survived by her children Anna and Ron Hartley and Sarah Huett; grandchildren David Hartley, Deanna and Trent Howell, Alyssa Hartley, Max Hartley and Dexter Huett; great grandson Leonardo Howell; brother Marvin, Jr and Barbara Winstead; niece Jessica Winstead; and a host of extended family and friends. Marlene was incredibly talented. She was a member of the Murphy Panther band. She played clarinet during marching season and contra bass clarinet for concert season. She graduated in 1973. She could also be seen on stage as a Pixie Player at the Pixie Playhouse or at Joe Jefferson Playhouse. She revived her stage presence with her children in 2009, where she could be seen at Chickasaw Civic Theater. She also played guitar and piano, sang in church choirs and love to cross-stitch. She was an LPN at Mobile Infirmary for many years, working in both outpatient surgery and general surgery. She was Queen Grace I of the Daughters of Grace O'Malley, May you have fair winds and following seas. A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date, as well as a private graveside service
